MedSim.AI Challenge

Test your diagnostic skills

Join ASU Health at the Esports Lounge of the School of Arts, Media and Engineering for an opportunity to put your medical knowledge to the test. Interested students will join up as ‘doctoring’ teams to tackle simulations using MedSim.AI, a novel tool developed by John Shufeldt and his team for medical education at ASU. ASU Health challenges our pre-health undergraduate students to take part in the same training used by medical students and physicians to sharpen their clinical doctoring skills!

How it works:

Attendees will be divided into ‘doctoring’ teams of 3 to 4 people to participate in multiple rounds of diagnostic competition. All teams will be presented with a simulated patient to whom they can ask questions, and a panel of diagnostic tests they can request. Your goal is to have the most accurate diagnosis while keeping in mind bedside manner and patient well-being. Based on your ability to meet these target criteria, your group will be awarded a score for the simulation.

Teams will get the opportunity review cases with a physician. They will highlight important questions and information to be gleaned from the simulated patient as well as highlight the best strategies for arriving at an accurate diagnosis while maintaining a great patient experience. This event is a great opportunity to get a jump on building skills essential for medical school and a career in medicine!

Teams with the highest score will win prizes.
